The deposit scam: you pay first, then you meet nobody
This is the number one massage scam in Bangkok. An account with beautiful photos asks you to send money first. To confirm the booking. To hold the time. After you send it, the account blocks you. No one was ever coming.
Here is the part most people do not know. The person behind the account is often not the woman in the photos. Many of these accounts are run by men. Some are not even in Thailand. The photos are stolen from real people, and the person typing is a stranger in another country.
One rule keeps you safe: never pay before the therapist is standing at your door. No deposit. No booking fee. No small payment to hold your time. A real outcall company in Bangkok never asks for money up front.
The price switch: 500 becomes 2,000 at your door
The chat says one price. Then the price changes. A travel fee appears. The special price ends. Or the quote was for 30 minutes, not 60. This trick works because you are tired, or undressed, or too polite to argue.
How to stay safe: book only with companies that show a full price list on their website, and confirm the total in chat before the visit. A price written in chat cannot grow. If the price still changes at your door, do not argue and do not negotiate. Say no, close the door.
The fake photos: a different person shows up
First, the honest truth about photos. Real therapists also want to look their best. Makeup, good light, a nice photo shoot, and now beauty filters too. That is normal and human. A photo can be prettier than everyday life, and she is still the same person.
The scam is something else. The photos show one person, and a completely different person arrives. Not a flattering photo of her: a photo of somebody else. That tells you the company lied at step one. Expect more lies after.
How to stay safe: book from companies where each therapist has her own profile with several photos and reviews that use her name. One glamour shot and no name is not a profile. It is bait.
