Pattaya Beaches Guide: Pattaya Beach, Jomtien, Wong Amat and More
This guide lists eight Pattaya beaches. Each one has a short note on the feel of the beach, the best time to go and how to get there.
Pick the area that fits your day. Sand, sun and a long walk can leave you tired, so each part ends with an easy way to rest at your hotel, condo or villa.

| Place | Area | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Jomtien Beach | Jomtien | Long, relaxed, condos and cafes |
| Pattaya Beach | Central Pattaya | Easy to reach, close to shops |
| Wong Amat Beach | North Pattaya | Resort feel and a quieter day |
| Cosy Beach | Pratumnak | A small beach on the hill side |
| Dongtan Beach | Between Pratumnak and Jomtien | A calm, quiet stop |
North Pattaya Beaches
North Pattaya is greener and calmer than the city centre. These two beaches sit close together.
Naklua Beach and Fishing Pier
Naklua is the old fishing side of north Pattaya. The beach is smaller than the main bay, and the fishing pier and small boats give it a local feel. Seafood places sit nearby. Go in the late afternoon for the light, then stay for an early dinner. It suits people who like a real town feel more than resort polish. Take a Grab, or a baht bus and agree the price first. The drawback is that it is not the place for a big beach day, so treat it as a walk and a meal.
Wong Amat Beach
Wong Amat Beach is in the north, near Naklua. It is a short bay with resorts and condo towers behind it, and no road runs along the sand. That makes it feel quiet. Go in the morning, when the air is cooler and the light is soft. It suits couples and anyone who wants a slow day. Some parts of the sand sit in front of hotels, so look for a public way in on your map. A Grab is the simplest way to get there. The drawback is that shops and street food are not on the beach, so bring water and snacks.
Sand, sun and a long day on your feet add up. Winding down at your hotel, condo or villa in the north is easy. See outcall massage in North Pattaya.
Central Pattaya Beach
Pattaya Beach
Pattaya Beach is the main city beach. It follows Beach Road along the central bay, with shops, cafes and shade trees close by. It is the easiest beach to reach, so it is also the busiest. Go early in the morning for more space and cooler air. Late afternoon works too. Baht buses run through the city, and Grab or Bolt works as well. The drawbacks are the crowds and the sand, which can be narrow in places. Sea water can vary, so check the signs before you swim.
After a day in the sun on Beach Road, a rest in your room feels good. See outcall massage in Central Pattaya.
Pratumnak and Dongtan
Pratumnak is the green hill south of the main bay. Dongtan sits between the hill and Jomtien. Both feel calmer than the city beach.
Cosy Beach
Cosy Beach is a small beach on the Pratumnak side. It feels tucked away below the hill, with rocks at both ends. Go in the morning, before the weekend crowd. It suits couples and short swims. The hill has cafes and viewpoints close by. Take a Grab, as the hill road can be steep. The drawback is the size. It is small, so it fills up fast, and the way in can be tight, so check the entrance on your map before you go.
Dongtan Beach
Dongtan Beach sits between Pratumnak and Jomtien. It is a quiet strip with big shade trees, and locals often come for a weekend picnic. Go in the late afternoon, when the sun is softer. It suits families who want a calm day. Bring your own water and snacks, as services may be limited. Take a Grab. The drawback is that it has fewer cafes than the bigger beaches, and it can be hard to spot, so pin it on your map first.
Pratumnak is a calm hill area, and a rest at your room after the beach fits well. See outcall massage in Pratumnak.
Jomtien and Beyond
Jomtien is the long beach south of Pratumnak. It is the residential side of Pattaya, with quieter stretches the further south you go.
Jomtien Beach
Jomtien Beach is the long beach south of Pratumnak, a few kilometres from the main bay. It is calmer than Pattaya Beach. Condo towers and beach hotels line the road, with cafes and seafood places in between. It is a good place for a long walk by the water, and for a slow afternoon. Go in the late afternoon, when the heat drops and the light turns soft. It suits couples, families and long stays. Baht buses run from Pattaya to Jomtien, and Grab works too. If you rent a chair and an umbrella, agree the price first. The drawback is the length. The beach is long, so choose your spot near a cafe, and expect the wind and waves to change from day to day.
Na Jomtien
Na Jomtien is the quiet southern end of the Jomtien coast. Villas and resorts sit behind the sand, and the pace is slow. Go in the morning, when the beach is almost empty. It suits long stays, families and anyone who wants to get away from the crowds. Use Grab, because it is further from the city. The drawback is distance. There are fewer shops within walking range, so plan your food and your ride home before you leave.
Bang Saray
Bang Saray is a small fishing village further south and out of town. It is not a city beach. Wooden boats sit on the shore, and many visitors come for seafood by the water. Go in the late afternoon. Take a Grab or a taxi, and plan your ride back, as the trip is longer than between the city beaches. The drawback is that it is far, and fewer rides run late at night.

Koh Larn and the Islands
Koh Larn is the island day trip from Pattaya. You reach it by boat, and it needs a full day of its own. This list covers the beaches on the mainland.
Massage After a Beach Day
A therapist can come to your hotel, condo or villa after the beach. It is a calm way to rest and relax once you are out of the sun. See hotel room massage in Pattaya, or home massage in Pattaya if you stay in a villa or condo. Back late from a sunset walk? Late night massage in Pattaya covers late arrivals. We are open 24 hours. Pay cash or PromptPay on arrival. The full area list is on outcall massage in Pattaya.
Plan Your Beach Day
- Best time. Morning and late afternoon are usually cooler, and the light is softer. Midday sun is strong, so rest in the shade or indoors then.
- Getting around. Use Grab or Bolt, or a baht bus and agree the price before you get in. Motorbike taxis are quick but riskier, so take care. Save your hotel name on your phone for the ride home.
- Sun. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Look for shade, and take breaks from the sun.
- Rain. The rainy season brings sudden showers. Check the sky, and keep a light jacket in your bag. In heavy rain, rides and arrivals can take longer.
- Staying safe. Keep your bag in front of you, and do not leave a phone on a towel while you swim. Crowded beaches and baht buses are where pickpockets work.
